Her last day in school uniform today, captured on polariod.
She is definitely not looking forward to new school, new friends and new teachers! LOL...

Analogue Toy Camera.. Holga!
Camera: Holga
Film: Kodak Ektachrome 100 Plus/EPP 120 slide film (Cross-processed)
Location: Gallop Stable, Pasir Ris
These photos were under-exposed due to insufficient sunlight. But well... it's my 1st roll, already quite happy with the result.
Oh..just to let you know, there was no photo editing done at all. It comes in square format, vignetting and saturated colour! The way I like it!

Back to Basics.
Introducing my "White Slim Angel".
No batteries required, just load film and wind along after each shot.
Then comes the love and hate of anticipation from waiting for the results.

Pony ride
She wanted horse riding lessons but make-do with pony rides instead.
The problem with proper riding lessons is, we have to buy the full riding gear which is not cheap considering she might just turn around and say she wants quit! So we put her on a cheaper alternative.... weekly pony ride, which she is quite happy with, for now. SO we shall see where she goes from there.

Writing
Started this new (hopefully) daily activity for Dawn.
I printed out some Story Starters from meddybemps but she was not interested at all. With her recent craze in fact books, I decided to go with writing about facts instead. Stories will have to wait.
These were done in the last 2 days ...

Paper Mache Reindeer
We took a whole month from start to finish. Adding one layer of newspaper every week with starch glue made from flour and salt.
Making this with Dawn kind of reminds me of my mum. I remembered those gluey starch she made and I sticking newspaper strips onto the bottom of a bowl. Well, just one of those little memories left of my childhood.

Digital Buchineko
Another new toy.. the Digital Buchineko toy camera takes still pictures as well as video!
It's not exactly the conventional digital camera. This 2 MP camera is not design for precise capturing, produces pictures with vignetting and wild colours. The video looks vintage and dream-like. Even though there is an LCD screen at the back, there is no preview when taking picture, instead you have to frame the shot using the plastic viewfinder on top of the camera.
BUT IT'S COOL!!! I love the look, the size (only 9cm lengthwise and super light). I guess I have had too many super clear SLR shots and would like to add some dreamy shots.
Dawn likes it too!
Here are some shots from today's walkabout during my lunch break ....

School party
Photos from the school party.
I was too lazy to prepare party bags, so only balloons for the children.

Photos from Dawn's 6th Birthday Party
Finally!!
I said FINALLY because I have waited and waited for these photos to be delivered to me by our dear photographer (you know who you are!). I have personally raided his computer just to get hold of them.
It was a great party. Dawn enjoyed it so so much! Even though it was madness for me... the planning, the decorating, the entertaining, etc.
Thanks to everyone who have made this possible!

Baking Cookies
Dawn enjoys baking like all children do... it's their opportunity to mess up, I think. Whenever I bake, I will have to set up a separate table for her. She would run to gather her mixer and other barang barang, too eager to "help". Her battery operated mixer works almost like a real mixer, so an egg and some flour was all it took to keep her occupied while I do the real baking.
She asked for some butter once and I gave that to her as well. Big mistake!!! She insisted on using her own microwave to melt it, which of course didn't turn out the way she wanted it to. She kept trying and trying... as if she didn't know it's not real !!! Ended up, there was butter all over the microwave.
It was all fun BUT the cleaning up part was a REAL pain (^.^;
She did some real baking over the weekend.
I was never patient at teaching. So it was a bit frustrating for me... flour flying all over the place while sifting, moulding not done properly etc. I went "No, Dawn" this.... "No, Dawn" that .... and the poor little girl kept say "Sorry!" "Sorry!". Even to the extent that when I sigh (loud and slow kind), she got the hint and automatically say "SORRY". (^∇^)
Now you know why your mother wants you to stay out of the kitchen ☆*゚ ゜゚
Tada!! Animal Maple Almond Cookies.

Primary 1 registration
(*^ー^) Went to the temple to pray... sounds exactly like 临时抱佛脚, right? Just feel like going... pretty worry I will make the wrong decision.... Hongwen or St. Margarets?
Today is the last day of registration. Looking at the 1st 2 days' registration data so far... balloting is unavoidable! Now regret one year ago never take Parent Volunteering seriously (T_T;)

Rubbish Work!
Well, there's a reason behind this title. She was really mad and out of nowhere, she just start thinking all that she had ever done (i.e artwork) were rubbish ... ugly and useless! And no matter what you say ( ̄▽ ̄lll) ,
it's STILL ......
I actually like it. It's her way of expressing herself through her drawing.
